Former New Zealand paceman Simon Doull has picked his India’s squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. India is one of the front contenders of the forthcoming ODI showpiece and they would like to deliver the goods at the coveted tournament. Simon Doull has selected a core team which has most of the bases covered.
One chink in the armour of the team is the bleak middle order. Doull has surprisingly picked KL Rahul in his team. Rahul isn’t in the best of forms and he was suspended for four matches for his comments on Koffee with Karan.

Doull selects KL Rahul.
Rahul has failed to deliver the goods in the red ball version and recently played for the India A after his ban was uplifted. In fact, KL Rahul hasn’t been in the scheme of the ODI team in the recent past. Thus, the chances are bleak that he would be in the team for the forthcoming World Cup.
On the other hand, Simon Doull has picked up Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian all-rounder has made a good comeback to ODI format and Jadeja can deliver the goods for the India National Cricket Team.
Furthermore, Mohammed Shami makes the cut into Simon Doull’s team. Shami has made a potent return to the ODI side and he is likely going to take the role of the third seamer in the side.

India has a potent top three batsmen in Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli. Furthermore, the Indian pace battery of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah has ticked the right boxes. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have done a great job as they have picked the wickets in the middle overs.
Here is Simon Doull’s India squad for World Cup 2019:
Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (WK), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami.
