With less than a month to go, the ICC World Cup 2019 fever has finally started the take a firm grip over the cricket lovers mind. While all the matches have witnessed massive interest, the battle between two arch-rivals – India and Pakistan have garnered the most invitation for tickets.

Meanwhile, there was doubt over India playing Pakistan at the biggest cricketing extravaganza. In the wake of the Pulwama attack on February 14, there were calls from certain sections to boycott the match to register their protest. The BCCI also held meeting with ICC over this; however, the apex body insisted on continuing as per the schedule. As a result, the Men in Blues skipping would have hampered their chances of progressing in the tournament, and they have decided to take on the Men in Greens and beat them.

India-Pakistan game sold out

Virat Kohli & Co will take on Pakistan on June 16 at the Old Trafford. Earlier, there were news that the high-voltage encounter has attracted 400000 applications for tickets for a 25000-seater stadium. But, as per reports now, the tickets for this mega-clash were sold within 48 hours. Interestingly, most of the enquiries for the match came from India.

The corporate sales and business development manager at Cricket Lancashire Dan Whitehead feels that the atmosphere will be electrifying. He also believes that it will fade away the atmosphere an India-England game.

“It is definitely going to be huge. Last year when India played against England in a T20 match here, it was a gorgeous sunny day and the crowd was predominantly Indian. The stadium was painted with Indian colours and the Bharat Army was very noisy.

It was a great game of cricket and India was far too good and the atmosphere was amazing and it’s going to be even louder for the India-Pakistan Game,” said Dan Whitehead.

Meanwhile, as per reports in IANS, there can be a concert on the eve of the match hosted by the Bharat Army. Famous star Guru Randhawa is likely to perform on that event.

Pakistan are yet to beat India in a World Cup match and will be desperate to change the record. On the other hand, India have beaten Sarfraz Ahmed & Co six times at the marquee event and will like to draw confidence from that when they take the field at Old Trafford on June 16.
