Bangladesh’s cricket has improved by leaps and bounds in the last five years. The Tigers have more consistent with both bat and ball and the same has been palpable in their performance. Bangladesh has achieved great success and there has been a considerable hike in their improvement graph. Thus, their top five highest totals have also come in the last four years.

Their players have played with confidence and they have believed in their abilities to savour success. In fact, it would be safe to say that it is no longer upset when Bangladesh beats a top side in the International cricket. We take a look at the top five highest total of Bangladesh team which they have achieved in One Day International Cricket.

5. 322-4 vs Scotland in 2015 at Nelson:

Bangladesh had to chase a huge target of 319 runs against Scotland while playing at Nelson in 2015. Kyle Coetzer had played a blistering knock of 156 runs to take Scotland to 318. However, Bangladesh was equal to the task as they got to the target with six wickets and 11 balls to spare.

Tamim Iqbal top-scored for the Men in Green as he scored 95 whereas Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim scored half-centuries.

4. 324-5 vs  Sri Lanka in 2017 at Dambulla:

Bangladesh’s talisman batsman Tamim Iqbal scored a fine knock of 127 off 142 balls to help his team get to a gargantuan score of 324 against Sri Lanka at Dambulla in 2017. Sabbir scored a fine knock of 54 whereas Shakib Al Hasan played a blistering knock of 72 runs from 71 balls. Mosaddek Hussain and Mahmudullah had provided the finishing touches. Tamim Iqbal was adjudged the Man of the match for his fine century.

Bangladesh went on to win that match by 90 runs as Sri Lanka was folded for 234 in 45.1 overs.

3. 326-3 vs Pakistan in 2014 at Dhaka:

Bangladesh posted a par score of 326 runs against Pakistan while playing at their capital Dhaka in 2014. Their wicket-keeper batsman Anamul Haque had scored a fine knock of 100 runs from 132 balls. Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim scored fifties for the Tigers. However, Bangladesh bowlers could not defend the total as they lost by three wickets.

Ahmed Shahzad scored a fine century for Pakistan to help his team chase down the target. Fawad Alam scored 74 whereas Shahid Afridi added the finishing touches as he scored 59 from 25 balls.

2. 329-6 vs Pakistan in 2015 at Dhaka:

Bangladesh’s batsmen continued their love affair for the Pakistan bowlers as they once again posted above 300 runs. The Tigers posted 329 runs against Pakistan in 2015 at Dhaka. Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim scored fine centuries to help their side get to a par score. Consequently, Bangladesh won by a margin of 79 runs as Pakistan was skittled out for 250 in response.

Mushfiqur Rahim was adjudged the Man of the match for scoring 106 from only 77 balls.

Bangladesh batsmen came up with their best performance when it mattered the most in the World Cup fixture against South Africa. Bangladesh was given a brisk start by Soumya Sarkar who scored 30-ball 42. Furthermore, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim added a fine alliance of 142 runs for the third wicket.

Mahmudullah provided the finishing touches as the right-hander scored 46 runs from 33 balls.
