Pakistan posted a big total of 308 runs after their skipper Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in the 30th match of the World Cup at Lord’s, London. The Men in Green got off to a good start as their openers added a fine partnership of 81 runs. Both the southpaw batsman, Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq were able to time the ball to perfection to get their runs.
Fakhar Zaman had the rub of the green on his side when Imran Tahir claimed the catch, however, the on-field gave the soft signal as not-out. There was not enough conclusive evidence to overturn the on-field decision and South Africa was left dejected.

Mohammed Hafeez went for the sweep shot but he was plumbed in front by part-time spinner Aiden Markram. Babar Azam played some delightful shots down the ground and brought his second World Cup fifty. Azam was looking for a big score but he was dismissed by Andile Phehlukwayo on 69 runs.

Furthermore, Harris Sohail was was brought back into the playing, was able to show his worth. The southpaw batsman was able to hit the ground running and scored quick runs for his side. The left-hander was able to time every ball from the middle of the bat and played a quickfire knock 89 to help Pakistan post a par score.

Good stuff from Imran Tahir today: 2 for 41 off his 10 overs. Not that the Pakistani fans have warmed to him …

All the hard work undone by a poor choice of shot by @FakharZamanLive and it was not needed! He is better hitting the ball in front of square. #PAKvSA #CricketWorldCup
