Pakistan banked on Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam to score 315 runs after batting first in pursuit of 300+ margin win over Bangladesh on July 5 (Friday) at the Lord’s. Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed copped up a blow on his forearm from a shot off his teammate Imad Wasim and had to retire hurt as he looked in immense pain. Twitter made a mockery of Sarfaraz who vouched to post a massive total ahead of the game.

Batting first, Pakistan got off to a slow start and lost Fakhar Zaman early as his poor run in the tournament continues. Since then, Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam revived the innings slowly and focused mainly on ones and twos to keep the scoreboard ticking. Babar has been in fantastic form in this World Cup as he continued the excellent in their last match of the tournament. They added 157 runs for the second wicket before Babar departed four short of an outstanding century.

Imam kept the scoreboard ticking and eventually reached the three-figure mark before getting out as Imad Wasim took on the Bangladesh attack. Although Mustafizur was among the wickets but went for plenty of runs. Wasim played a blinder hitting six fours and one over-boundary to chip in with 23-ball 46 runs. Meanwhile, in the process, Sarfaraz Ahmed took a blow on his arm in the 45th over as Wasim took on Mohammad Saifuddin.

The ball travelled very fast, giving Sarfaraz no time to react as he went down soon after the hit and looked in no mood to get up early. The physio was soon in the ground working on his forearm but later on Sarfaraz Ahmed decided to walk back to the pavilion retired hurt. Shortly after the turn of events, he started trending on social media with fans trolling him badly on Twitter for failing to lift his side to a massive total he has earlier promised.
