England thrashed West Indies by 269 runs to seal the three-match series 2-1. The hosts had lost the series-opener by four wickets before bouncing back in style to win the following two games and win the series in style.

West Indies were on the backfoot in the game right after failing to deliver with the bat in the first innings. After England scored 369, the visitors were all out for just 197. The hosts then piled up 262 for 2 (declared) in their second innings to set the visitors an improbable target of 399 runs.

In reply, West Indies started disastrously and ended day three on 10 for 2 before the fourth day was completely washed out. However, rain could not avoid a defeat for the Jason Holder-led side. Rain played spoilsport on the final day too as the morning session was forced to a premature end but England managed to reduce West Indies to 84 for 5.

Rain played spoilsport in the second session too but England’s bowlers made sure that West Indies do not keep fighting for long. The Caribbean outfit kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually all out for 129. Chris Woakes starred with the ball by picking up 5 wickets while veteran Stuart Broad picked 4 after his 6-wicket haul in the first innings.
