So, Afghanistan will be gearing up for their maiden Test fixture against India which is slated to be played from 14th to 18th June at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Coming off a sensational 3-0 victory against Bangladesh in a three-match Twenty20 International series, Afghanistan will be fully confident ahead of a historic day in their cricketing lives.
Well before the clash, Afghan skipper Asghar Stanikzai warned India of not taking them lightly despite their inexperience of playing any red-ball cricket.

Afghanistan has some exceptional spinners in their ranks and the captain feels that their spin quartet is better than their Indian counterparts.
The likes of Rashid Khan, Mujeeb-ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi has been quite brilliant in the shortest format.
Even in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL), Rashid and Mujeeb in particular troubled top-class batsmen quite consistently.
However, it remains to be seen whether they can replicate their performance in the longest format of the game.

“Great preparation for the Test match against India – the morale is high,” Stanikzai said.
It was after Afghanistan managed to beat Bangladesh in the final T20I by a solitary run.
“Last couple of years we have performed well. We want to achieve it for Afghanistan. You see the batsmen, bowlers are all in good form,” he added.
India will be without the services of their regular skipper Virat Kohli, who is still nursing an injury. In his absence, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will be leading the side.
With a variety of spinners in the Afghan bowling line-up, India might be tempted leave out some grass for the One-off Test. They have some equally good fast bowlers which can unsettle any batting line-up let alone Afghanistan.
Rashid will spearhead Afghan attack for lone Test against India:
Meanwhile, for Afghanistan, it will be Rashid, who will spearhead their attack. He bagged the Man of the Series award during their 3-0 drubbing of Bangladesh.
The 19-year-old Rashid bagged eight wickets in three matches and was instrumental for Afghanistan making a clean sweep over Bangladesh.
“Full credit to my fitness – if you’re fit, you can deliver in any department; it doesn’t matter whether I’m playing in league cricket or the national team, I just want to enjoy,” IANS quoted Rashid as saying.
