I’m So Touched & Thankful To Be Blessed By Such Family And Friends, Says Rashid Khan After Being Showered With Birthday Messages

Afghanistan star Rashid Khan, on Thursday , thanked his well-wishers for their birthday messages as he turned 20.

Rashid Khan has become one of the most popular cricketers in the world at the moment and the reasons are obvious. His meteoric rise in the game has coincided with Afghanistan’s fairy-tale journey in the game. Rashid has been playing franchise cricket all over the world and has done exceedingly well everywhere. His young age, charming personality and undeniable talent has made him a fan-favourite.

As expected, the fans, well-wishers as well as cricketers showered him with birthday messages on Thursday. And Rashid made sure to thank them at the end of the day. The leg-spinner took to Instagram to post a message for all them, writing:

“On this special day, I’m so touched & thankful to be blessed by such awesome family, friend & legend cricketers. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Keep me in your prayers as it’s the key to my success.”

Meanwhile, Rashid’s day became even better when he starred with both bat and ball to fire Afghanistan to a thumping win over Bangladesh in the ongoing Asia Cup.

Rashid first hit a valiant unbeaten knock of 57 en route a 95-run stand with Gulbadin Naib. The-leg-spinner then picked up two wickets to help Afghanistan thrash Bangladesh by 136 runs. Not surprisingly, Rashid picked up the Man of the Match award.

Afghanistan were reeling at 158 for 6 before Rashid and Naib launched a stunning counterattack. The duo added 95 runs in just 56 balls as Afghanistan collected as 97 runs in the final 10 overs to post 255 for 7.

In reply, Bangladesh were all out for just 119.

Afghanistan will now take on Pakistan in the Super Four clash. They will be hoping that their star man Rashid Khan delivers again as they will be eyeing another upset in the competition, having already beaten Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
