KL Rahul scored a fifty in his returning game, as India scored 126-7 against Australia in Vizag. During the first T20I, it was the Aussies who won the toss and elected to bowl first. Both teams had included two debutants on the list; for Australia, it was Peter Handscomb while Mayank Markande got picked over Vijay Shankar in the XI for the hosts. Also, India and Australia had observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the CRPF jawans who got martyred in Pulwama attack. Not only this, but the Indian side also wore black armbands in the memory of them.
India began well, loses plot later on
As Shikhar got rested, KL Rahul made way in the playing XI. Getting to open alongside Rohit Sharma, Rahul did hit a few boundaries. Trying to go for the glory too, Rohit mistimed one and gave his wicket to Behrendorff on five. Virat Kohli, who also returned to the Indian team found some runs as well. The pair added 55 runs before Adam Zampa got him caught at deep long-on. A few overs later, Rishabh Pant found himself short of his crease; getting out on three.

Later, KL Rahul completed his fifty, though Nathan Coulter-Nile got him out on 5o soon after. Dinesh Karthik then joined Dhoni, but his stay at the crease was short-lived; as he got bowled off Coulter-Nile’s delivery on a little one. Meanwhile, Nile didn’t stop there – as he picked Krunal Pandya on one as well; reeling India on 100 for six in 15 overs.
Things only worse after that as India not only lost wickets, they failed to score runs despite MS Dhoni remaining at the crease. In 20 overs, India could manage a mere 126 for seven.

The ability to bowl the heavy ball clearly taking the Indians by surprise. The Aussies also look more match-ready with many players coming off the Big Bash. #indvaus

Looking at d T20 format, newcomers should be given a chance to show their talent and players like #Rohit, virat, dhoni, dhawan should be rested n more concerned with ODIs! #INDvAUS
