It was unfortunate for Karun Nair to be missing out a place in the Indian team for the series against the Windies. It would have been an excellent platform for him to get the ticket to the Australian tour. However, the hope is still there for the youngster alongside Murali Vijay to make a comeback in the Indian Test team.

Though the selectors haven’t considered Karun Nair and Murali Vijay for the selection, the chairman of selectors, MSK Prasad stressed Karun Nair to continue his form in the domestic circuit and India A tours.

A golden chance for Karun Nair and Murali Vijay:

From the point of MSK Prasad, it is obvious Karun Nair will be touring New Zealand in November, which is just ahead of the tour to Australia. Probably, this is the only chance for Karun Nair and Vijay to make a comeback by performing.

Ahead of the New Zealand tour, the couple of Ranji matches will also help the duo to make their chance count. A couple of good scores will help Karun Nair while Murali Vijay needs to be super consistent.

Rohit Sharma, to miss the Windies series?

However, another player, who is trying his heart out to be in the Test team is Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see whether BCCI will take the bold call by removing him for the limited-overs series against the Windies.

India team will take on Australia on December 6th before facing Windies at home across the formats. India A’s tour to New Zealand, which is yet to get announced officially will be playing in mid-November.

All in all, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the notable cricketers in the Indian cricket. With England tour ending on the wrong side, India would be determined to win against Australia.
