Team India will go up against Bangladesh in the first of the two-match Test series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore starting from November 14 (Thursday). Can Bangladesh register their maiden victory or will the host keep up their winning run?

Virat Kohli & Co have ticked all the boxes in recent times having dominated every opponent they played with. What has been most heartening is to see how the fast bowlers have bowled for India. The likes of Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma have taken the conditions out of the equation, enabling Kohli to opt an attacking approach.

There have speculations with the SG Pink balls but the kind of form the Indian batsmen are in, it is unlikely to pose any tough challenge. The next few days will provide Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma to spread their authority once again after a glorious time against South Africa. Virat Kohli, who has two double centuries against Bangladesh will also want to make it big as he aims to close in on Steve Smith in the ICC Rankings.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, find themselves in deep mud before the start of the series. They’ve lost each of the three games they’ve played – including one against Test infants Afghanistan at home. On top of it, suspension of skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal’s unavailability for the entirety of the India tour has jolted them.

The visitors have a new skipper in Mominul Haque, who enjoys a good record against India. He and Mushfiqur Rahim will have to lead the team from the front and produce presentable results against the no 1 team in the ICC Test Rankings.
