The hosts India won the three-match T20I series against the visitors Bangladesh after winning the series-decider at Nagpur on Sunday (10th November) night.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first in this third and final T20I of this series. After coming to bat first, the hosts managed to score 174/5 in 20 overs. Chasing down that target, Bangladesh were all out on 144 runs (19.2 overs). The hosts won this match by 30 runs and won this series by the 2-1 margin.

The visiting side Bangladesh won the opening game of this series at Delhi by seven wickets. Rajkot hosted the second T20I of this series and the hosts won that match by eight wickets.

i) The pacers combinedly took nine wickets during the second innings of the match. It was the second time when the Indian pacers combinedly picked up nine wickets in a T20I innings. Their first such record was against Pakistan at Johannesburg in the 2007 ICC World T20 final (24th September 2007).

ii) India won this match by 30 runs. It was the second-largest T20I victory (by runs) for India against Bangladesh. Their record is winning by 45 runs at Dhaka on 24th February 2016.

India

i) Playing his 34th T20I match, the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (50 wickets) completed his 50 T20I wickets. He became the third Indian but fastest Indian bowler to complete 50 T20I wickets. The right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah (51 wickets) was the previous fastest Indian bowler to complete 50 T20I wickets as he achieved this feat in 41 T20Is. The off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (52 wickets) is the other Indian bowler to take 50 T20I wickets.

ii) Indian pacer Deepak Chahar claimed a hat-trick. He became the first Indian bowler and 11th overall bowler to claim a T20I hat-trick. Meanwhile, it was the 12th hat-trick in T20I history.

iii) Deepak Chahar finished this match with the bowling figures of 3.2-0-7-6. It is the best bowling figures in T20I match history. The previous record was 4-2-8-6 by the former Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis against Zimbabwe at Hambantota on 18th September 2012. Also, Chahar became the second Indian bowler to claim six-wicket haul in a T20I match as the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was the first bowler in this list. Ajantha Mendis is the only other bowler to pick-up six wickets in a T20I match and he claimed it twice.

 

Bangladesh

i) Bangladesh batsmen Mohammad Naim and Mohammad Mithun put the third wicket partnership of 98 runs. It is the highest T20I partnership for Bangladesh for any wicket against India. The previous record was 65 runs partnership for the fifth wicket between Mushfiqur Rahim and Sabbir Rahman at Colombo (RPS) on 14th March 2018. Also, the latest 98-run partnership was the third-highest partnership for Bangladesh for the third wicket and sixth overall partnership for Bangladesh for any wicket.

ii) The opener Mohammad Naim scored 81 runs. It is the highest individual T20I score for a Bangladesh batsman against India. The previous record was 77 by Sabbir Rahman at Colombo (RPS) on 18th March 2018. Also, it is the second-highest individual score for a Bangladesh batsman in the second innings of a T20I match. The record is 88* by Tamim Iqbal against West Indies at Dhaka on 10th December 2012.
