Murali Vijay looks set for another county stint as is highly likely to play for Somerset in the remainder of the season. As per a report in ESPNcricinfo, Vijay and Somerset have agreed upon the deal and the player is waiting for confirmation from Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.
Out of favour Vjay had made his county debut for Essex last year. He had a great run for Essex as he scored 323 runs at 64.60, with one century and three half-centuries.

His form in the county cricket saw him being recalled to the Test side for Australia tour. In the first two Test matches, Vijay scored 49 runs and got dropped from the playing XI later. The right-handed batsman was not selected in the squad for the West Indies Tests.
Vijay was a regular in the playing XI for long but his form dipped in England. In the first two Tests, he scored 26 runs, that included two ducks in Lord’s. He was dropped from the squad after the third Test, with Prithvi Shaw replacing him for the last two matches.
He wasn’t selected in the home series against West Indies as well but his county stint saw him travel to Australia.
Vijay will hope to make a comeback to the international cricket with another good show in county cricket. If he travels to England, it will also mean that he could miss some matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy. But Vijay will be available for complete Ranji Trophy season.
