Rohit Sharma, one of the prolific openers in the contemporary cricket right now feels solid-looking Indian Cricket team has the pedigree to beat England in their own backyard across all the formats.

Meanwhile, with the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been done and dusted, Rohit has switched to resume his national duties. He is a part of India’s One-day International and Twenty20 International squad for the tour of Ireland and England respectively.

However, he wants to take a small break before starting his preparation for the series in the United Kingdom (UK).

The IPL has just concluded so I want to take a small break to spend some quality time with my family,” Rohit told India TV during the show “Cricket Ki Baat”.

We can beat England:

Speaking about the upcoming series, Sharma is confident that they can beat England.

The Nagpur-based cricketer Rohit also added that they have played a lot of cricket in England and is aware of the conditions.

We have played a lot in England, so we don’t really need to change our practice style much for the tour. This tour will be very challenging for us. Having said that, we can defeat them in England as we have players, skills and an aggressive captain,” he added.

The Men in Blue will play three ODIs and as many T20Is against the Eoin Morgan-led side. Meanwhile, India had a disastrous tour when they visited England last in 2104. They suffered a humiliating loss across all the formats.

However, Rohit Sharma is confident saying that the players are doing well in foreign conditions and will continue doing so.

We led India’s fightback last time we toured England. We managed to draw the first Test, won second and then lost the momentum. But we have a strong team now. Our team is performing well both in India and overseas and that too in all three formats,” he concluded.
