Yet again, Bangladesh Cricket Team ended up facing a loss in their ongoing tour. After losing a series in the shorter format of the game, Mominul Haque-led Bangladesh was expected to give a tough fight for the Indian team in Test format but unfortunately, they faced a defeat of an innings and 113 runs.
Batting first, Bangladesh had managed to post 150 runs on the board and then leaked 493 runs for the home side, courtesy Mayank Agarwal’s double century. Surprisingly, Virat Kohli has declared innings with overnight score to start Day 3 with the ball, which turned out to be a good decision, as Bangladesh were rolled out for 213 runs in their second innings.
Abu Jayed And Mushfiqur Rahim Are The Positives For Us – Mominul Haque
Speaking of the game, the Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque quoted that the decision after winning the toss has turned out to be wrong and then called the performances of Mushfiqur Rahim and Abu Jayed as the major positives for the team. Further, he also felt Liton Das played a good knock in the second innings.
And also, Mominul Haque showered words of praise on India’s bowling attack, who never gave them a chance to get those runs for the team. However, he wants to keep this game aside and wants to enjoy the final game, which will be the first-ever Pink Ball Test game for Bangladesh as well as for India.
”I thought it was a challenging decision (Toss). Abu Jayed and Mushy are the positives for us in this Test match. Liton also batted well. It was very challenging for the top-order batsmen, they have a great bowling attack. We will look to enjoy the next pink-ball Test match,” Mominul Haque said in the post-match presentation.
All in all, it was a tough loss for Bangladesh. They have many areas to address before heading to the Pink Ball Test, which is to be played at Eden Gardens at Kolkota. Most Probably, Bangladesh would make a few changes to the side, as they looked pretty ordinary compared to the Indian team at Indore.
