They lost the Test series by a 2-1 However, they have realised the fact and will play the shortest formats in overseas conditions first to make sure that they are match ready for the longest format of the game.

The issue will be addressed when the team travels to England and Australia

BCCI CEO Rahul Johri said that the issue will now be addressed when the team travelled to England and Australia last year.

“Based on the feedback from the team management we had some discussions. What we are not doing is that in the summer India is going to England and before the first Test, the team would get acclimated to the conditions. India will play the shorter format before Test.”
