After an impressive victory in West Indies, the Virat Kohli-led Indian National Cricket Team tops the points table of the ongoing ICC Test Championship. They scripted 318-run victory in their inaugural match of the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21. They had a perfect 60-point win, which saw them seal the top place.

Another impressive rise in the table is for England. After being thrashed away in the first Ashes Test and drawing the second game, the class of Ben Stokes helped them to take fourth place in the table, otherwise, would have been at the bottom of the table.

Top Performers – Ajinkya Rahane, Jasprit Bumrah and Ben Stokes

For India, Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc with a five-wicket haul, complementing Ajinkya Rahane’s long-awaited 10th Test hundred, as India decimated West Indies by 318 runs inside four days to start their World Test Championship campaign on a positive note.

Ajinkya Rahane was the star with the bat while Jasprit Bumrah delivered in the second innings. The other notable players in the team to finish the task to perfection is Ishant Sharma in the first innings and Hanuma Vihari in the second innings alongside a decent contribution from Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja.

The win took India to the top of the World Test Championship table with 60 points. Sri Lanka is currently second although they have an equal number of points. Australia and England are currently third and fourth respectively with 32 points each.

For England, it was Ben Stokes, who single-handedly won the game for the team. England, who were bundled for a humiliating 67 in the first innings, required 73 runs to win when the last man, Jack Leach, walked in to bat on day 4.
