India and debutant Afghanistan, who earned their Test status last year in June, are square off in a one-off Test match series starting on June 14 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane opted to bat first in the batting deck of M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Indian batsmen capitalised on it as they are in line to post a huge total in the first innings.
However, the visitors came back strong as India lost five wickets cheaply to lift their spirits as the fag end. India finished the day at 346 for 6 with Hardik Pandya (10*) and Ravichandran Ashwin (7*) still at the crease.
The Afghans will look to bank on the momentum and wrap up the Indian inning in the morning session of day 2.
According to Accuweather, there are high chances of rain in Bengaluru throughout the day. The first day also saw the rain god halt the game time twice. Moreover, the morning session have chances of thunderstorms which can stop the playing time.
However, the temperatures will be pleasant, much to the delight of the fans. The fans along with the players from both the camps will pray that the showers remain away from M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
