The home team started off the five-match series with a resounding victory by six wickets in the first ODI in Hyderabad. The bowlers were on song from the outset and never really allowed the visitors to get a strong hold on the match. Mohammed Shami who has looked lethal in the last few months bowled brilliantly and finished with impressive figures of 2/42 in 10 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav was also impressive in his 10 overs spell which stalled the Australian progress. The home team was in trouble after losing four wickets for just 100 runs. However, it was a great unbeaten partnership between Kedar Jadhav and senior statesman MS Dhoni which ensured India strolled to a six wickets victory with 11 deliveries to spare.
On the other hand, India has currently lost a couple of wickets after being put into bat by the Australian captain Aaron Finch.

Meanwhile, the visitors are still bossing the game and will be hoping to restrict India to a manageable total. It is almost a must-win match for the visitors. A victory will bring them level with India. However, a defeat will mean they have to climb a huge road to win the series.
