After the hectic schedule in Australia and New Zealand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been given rest for the T20I series and an initial couple of ODI games against Australia in India. Now, he is all set to return in the place of Siddharth Kaul for the remaining three ODI games of the series, which are the last three games for India before heading into ICC World Cup 2019.

Despite Siddharth Kaul got only two games, the Indian management didn’t give him a chance to play in the ODI series. Meanwhile, the return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar will once again give selection headaches for the Indian team management.

You want to be fit – Bhuvneshwar Kumar

India is following a rotating policy with the fast bowlers. One of three fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shami are being rested in the bilateral series. However, with the last three games left in the bank, the Indian selectors named all of them in the side.

Meanwhile speaking of the same, Bhuvneshwar Kumar quoted that he isn’t worried about the selection procedure. He believes that the selectors are looking after their bowlers very well, who is getting the rest in the rotation.

“I’m not worried about who’s getting a chance and who’s not getting. More importantly, it’s about getting rest. Shami got to rest in New Zealand, I got to rest in this series. You want to be consistent and for that, you want to be fit. That’s the reason why I took rest,” Bhuvneshwar said.

IPL is to fine tune skills:

The flamboyant cricketer furtherly added that the Indian Premier League is all about fine-tuning skills rather than considering as the match practice ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019. He believes these three ODI games are crucial for the team.

“Not necessarily IPL, but these three matches definitely, also because we can’t take any match lightly. Obviously, these are the crucial matches for us going into the World Cup. IPL is something… it’s where we polish our skills and be in form but ODI and T20I are totally different. So we are approaching these matches (ODIs) as the last before the World Cup.”

Well, it would be interesting to see whether India would give some game time to Bhuvneshwar Kumar or not. Most Probably, Shami would get the rest to play Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the side.
