After the recent interview by Ravi Shastri, a lot of debates have been carried out regarding the batting position of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. It seems like the change in the batting order of Virat Kohli looks obvious after the latest statements at the press conference by the Indian skipper ahead of the first ODI at Hyderabad.

The Indian skipper got a quality batting average at number 4 for the team. Though the numbers at third position look astounding, the number 4 figures also look quite dominating for Virat Kohli. He excelled in both the positions to perfection.

The flamboyant batsman quoted that he is not a new guest to the number 4 slot, as he did quite a few times for the team. He believes that he can play his natural game either at number 3 or number 4, as it demands the same set of skills. The skipper felt that he would play his game irrespective of the batting position.

“I’ve batted a lot of times at number four. I don’t necessarily try it out as I’ve done that a lot in the past. My game doesn’t change much from number three to four because the template is quite similar. In any given situation I try to play the game I know,” Kohli said on the eve of ODI series against Australia.

Well, it seems like the Indian skipper has already fixed in his mind that he should interchange his position if the team demands him to play at number 4. Perhaps, India might ask one between KL Rahul or Ambati Rayudu at number 3 based on the form of the duo.

If Virat Kohli bats at number 4, India would certainly have a solid middle-order department. But, in order to make that possible, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan should carry their brilliant form right throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see whether Virat Kohli will play at number 3 or 4 against Australia in the upcoming ODI series. If they would like to test KL Rahul and with both the openers finding a place in the side, there is a good chance that Kohli dropping himself to number 4 position.
