India’s opener Rohit Sharma is on the cusp of another milestone in One Day Internationals. The stylish batsman has thus far scored 7954 runs in his ODI career in the 199 innings he has played. Thus, the flamboyant batsman needs another 46 runs to complete 8000 runs in the 50-overs version. If Rohit manages to get there in the decider of the series against Australia, then the right-hander will become the third joint fastest to get to the landmark.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the fastest to scale down 8000 ODI runs as he had got there in 175 innings. Former South African talisman batsman AB de Villiers is the second quickest to reach the milestone as the right-hander got to the feat in 182 innings.

On the other hand, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is the third fastest as they had brought his 8000 ODI runs in his 200 innings. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma had got back into form in the last match as he scored a fine knock of 95 runs off just 92 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes.

Thus, Rohit Sharma will like to continue his good form going in the series. The series is tied at 2-2 and the Indian vice-captain will like to bring his best to the table.

Rohit Sharma has had a quiet year thus far. He had scored a majestic hundred in the first ODI against Australia in Sydney. However, that knock had gone in vain as India lost that match.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is going to hold the key in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. Rohit has all the experience under his belt and he will like to deliver the goods for the team. The right-hander is currently the number two batsman in the ICC ODI Rankings.

The decider will take place in Delhi on 13th March.
