India’s deputy Rohit Sharma played a poor shot when he went for the paddle sweep while facing Australia’s southpaw Jason Behrendorff. The fine-leg fielder Adam Zampa was within in the 30-yard circle which prompted Rohit Sharma to go for the shot. However, the flamboyant batsman could not get the timing right as he got a toe end of the bat.

Subsequently, Adam Zampa took a simple catch in the third over of the Indian innings. Meanwhile, Australia’s skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bowl first. India has got Mayank Markande in their playing XI, who is making his T20I debut. The leg-spinner became the 79th T20I player for India.

Meanwhile, India has lost five wickets at the score of 94 as they are in a spot of bother after the completion of 13 overs. However, KL Rahul played a key role for the Indian team as the stylish batsman scored his fifth T20I fifty. The right-hander scored a half-dozen fours and one six in his knock. On the other hand, Virat Kohli scored 24 off 17 balls.

Kohli could not clear Nathan Coulter-Nile at long on after the right-hander could not get the elevation he was looking for. Furthermore, Nathan Coulter-Nile who has performed well against the Indian team has scalped three wickets.

KL Rahul scored a good knock of 50 off just 36 balls. However, MS Dhoni could not provide the finishing touches as the former Indian skipper scored 29 off just 37 balls. India has posted 126 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Thus, the Indian bowlers will need to pick early wickets in the powerplay overs.
