India vs Bangladesh: Mosaddek Hossain Flies Back Home Ahead Of Test Series

Just hours after the conclusion of the third and final T20I between India and Bangladesh in Nagpur, Bangladesh allrounder Mosaddek Hossain returned home immediately. While all of his teammates headed to Indore for the upcoming Test series, the allrounder headed back to home. And it has now been confirmed that he had to fly back home due to family emergency.

Mosaddek himself took to Facebook to clear the confusion that was all around after he decided to fly back in such hurry. The 23-year old confirmed he returned home to be with his ailing mother. Her mother, Hosne ara Begum is sick and is hospitalised. Mosaddek is currently is staying by his mother’s side to take care of her.

“Hopefully, everyone can realize now why I am coming back from India. My mother’s liver is not working properly and need emergency operation. Please, everyone keeps my mother in your prayers. Cricket and team are always integral part of my life. Love for all of my well-wishers,” Mosaddek Hossain wrote on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu has confirmed that Mosaddek Hossain’s departure is temporary and the allrounder will join the Test squad for the upcoming series. He will return to India after his mother’s operation.

“His (Mosaddek) mother is ill. The operation will take place immediately. Hopefully he will finish the job soon and join the team,” said the selector.

Mosaddek Hossain, however, looks set to miss the first game of the two-match Test series. The series-opener will start from November 14 and the allrounder is unlikely to play the game. The second game, on the other hand, will take place from November 22 in Kolkata.

Bangladesh will be desperate to put up a good performance in Tests after losing the T20I series. The Tigers started the tour on a good note by winning the first T20I before India thrashed them in the following two games to wrap up the series.
