Of late, the Indian National Cricket Team has seen a lot of youngsters making a debut. The good news is that all the youngsters are delivering the goods right in their debut games to put selection headaches constant on the selectors. Meanwhile, the latest player, who is pretty close to collect the Indian cap is Shubman Gill and guess what, he got the backing from the former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly.

Ganguly’s comment came few hours after India’s comprehensive seven-wicket win over Kane Williamson’s men in the third ODI at the Bay Oval which helped the Men in Blue take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series.

Shubman Gill should play remaining matches – Sourav Ganguly

The stylish southpaw feels that Kedar Jadhav, who can turn the match should bat at number 5 while Mahendra Singh Dhoni should bat at number 4. Meanwhile, he believes Shubman Gill can also do the job for the country.

He heaped words of praise on Kedar Jadhav for playing the game without any pressure. Ganguly believes that Kedar Jadhav can make a massive impact on the game for the team and can change the course of the game from any situation.

‘Kedar is a cricketer who can change the outcome of the match. He can handle pressure situations quite well as we saw against Australia. He’s handy with the ball as well and takes wickets. You can play Dhoni at 4, Kedar at 5 and you also have a batsman in Shubman Gill, who should play in the remaining matches.”

Virat Kohli needs rest:

Further, he believes that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s rest is a deserving one. Virat Kohli has got a lot of assignments further for the Indian side. With especially, ICC World Cup 2019 in the lineup, Kohli should be in a good zone to deliver for India.

“He needs the rest. Virat plays all three formats and with his back giving trouble in between, it was a good decision to rest him, especially with Australia touring India, followed by the IPL and the World Cup,” Ganguly concluded.

Well, it would be interesting to see whether Shubman Gill makes his debut for India or not. Most probably, he would earn his chance, as he played quite a brilliant cricket in the domestic circuit. He also received high praises from Virat Kohli on the eve of 3rd ODI.
