India and West Indies lock horns in the second ODI the serie in Vizag on Wednesday. With series on the line for India, the home team will have everything to play for as a defeat here will mean that they will lose the ODI series. Men in Blue have to ensure that they win the second ODI and continue the winning run in the next ODI to dominate or else, West Indies will pull off a big surprise against Team India.

Shimron Hetymyer and Shai Hope’s efforts proved to be heavy on Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant’s partnership of 114. The Caribbean duo added 218 runs for the second wicket to sail their team to a win. Indian bowlers did have a chance after Hetmyer’s dismissal but Hope and Nicholas Pooran did the job.

Expect just one change in the West Indies lineup for the second ODI. If fit, Evin Lewis will be an automatic selection in the playing XI but if he isn’t match-fit, then Sunil Ambris will keep his spot. Lewis had suffered knee issue during the third T20I at Wankhede Stadium last week.

Team India might have a change as well. Yuzvendra Chahal has a strong chance of coming into playing XI, replacing either of Ravindra Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav. India were a pacer short in the opening ODI and Shardul Thakur might be named in the playing XI as well. But the question is: Will Virat Kohli drop Shivam Dube?

Weather conditions –

Just like the first ODI, there is a rain threat for the second ODI as well. But here, there are high chances of rain during the second innings. The weather forecast suggests that there will be rain between 6 to 7 PM.

The weather condition will improve in the evening and rain might disrupt just a few overs at the start of the second innings. This will surely have an impact on the toss as the captain winning it will opt to bowl first.
