India vs Windies 2018: Ajit Agarkar Lauds Debutant Prithvi Shaw For Terrific Show

Former Indian fast bowler Ajit Agarkar praises debutant Prithvi Shaw for his terrific show in the first Test match against Windies at Rajkot. Shaw played a fantastic knock of 134 runs off 154 balls with the help of nineteen boundaries. In addition to that, Ajit Agarkar said that he is impressed with the improvement of Prithvi Shaw. In fact, Shaw has the capability to score runs from a young age.

Moreover, Shaw scored plenty of runs in all the formats of the game. He keeps on piling runs in the domestic circuit as well as for India A. Prithvi Shaw also showed his temperament against the world-class attack and achieved the great feat on his debut.

Ajit Agarkar is impressed with the upward swing on Shaw’s improvement graph.

“Just his improvement. You know how he progressed, we have been reading about him in the Mumbai newspapers since he was a school the number of runs that he keeps piling on and you knew that this guy was one to look forward to. whether someone progresses and goes and plays for India is another thing,” Agarkar said while talking to ESPN Cricinfo.

“That’s the one thing that got him to this level. You have seen him in different sort of formats, whether it’s domestically or for India A keeps scoring runs, so seems fearless and he doesn’t afraid to play shots. This is a different Test, the first test match and there will always be nerves, he will have to be watchful, playing against international class attacks,” Ajit Agarkar said.

Ajit Agarkar also added that it is indeed an excellent opportunity for Prithvi Shaw to play for India. He has waited for it for the last two years. Agarkar also added that he should focus on his game and not think for the next match or the next series.

“You look at it as an opportunity and not worry about what the next test you gonna do or the next tour you going to do. You want to try and worry about, you know Test debut for anyone is special so you want to worry about what you do today morning and take it from there. I don’t think he will be looking for too far ahead, he is waiting for this opportunity for a couple of years.” Ajit Agarkar concluded.

It was a fine performance from Prithvi Shaw as he was able to bring his best to the table. The prodigy batsman has done a fine job as he scored a staggering hundred.
