India could miss the services of their premium pacer, Ishant Sharma for the upcoming Test series against the Windies at home. However, Ishant had injured his ankle in the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval in London.

Pertinently, lanky fast bowler Ishant left the field after bowling only one over on the fourth day and did not bowl after that. According to the medical reports, the pacer has suffered an ankle stress fracture which likely takes time to heal for at least a month.

But it will effectively rule Ishant out of the Windies Test series, starting after the Asia Cup 2018.

Moreover, India will be touring Australia in November this year. The team will unlikely miss the pace of Ishant against the Windies.

Here’re the three players who can replace Ishant Sharma against Windies tour:

Siddarth Kaul

Siddarth Kaul recently played four matches for India B. He managed to pick up three wickets. The promising pacer also played a Twenty20 International and two One-day Internationals against England where he bagged two wickets from the T20 match.

However, he was unable to pick up a single wicket from both the ODIs.

Kaul claimed a four-for to help Chandigarh reduce Patiala to 180 for seven on the opening day of their Katoch Shield semifinal match at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali on September 6, 2018.

However, the team management might keep an eye on Kaul replacing Ishant for the upcoming Test series against the Caribbeans. He could probably make a Test debut against Windies.

However, he picked up 97 and 47 wickets from the First-class and List A career. He is being a sensational player and is growing up well. Siraj can also deliver with good pace and sometimes trouble the batsman with his bouncer.

The team management should keep an eye on him for the upcoming series replacing Ishant against the Windies and can sensationally make a Test debut.
