2. Mahendra Singh Dhoni:

The big name to get the rest is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He has been the regular member in the ODI side for a long time and the need to give him the rest has also arrived. With the Australian tour in line, the only chance for the selectors to try youngsters in the middle-order will be by resting MS Dhoni.

Mostly, India would prefer Rishabh Pant in place of MS Dhoni. Pant is in ominous form and got the calibre to make a mark in India’s struggling middle-order as well.

1. Virat Kohli:

Don’t get surprised if you won’t find the name of Virat Kohli on the teamsheet against the Windies in the ODI series. Without any ray of the doubt, Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the ranks for India.

Especially, with India touring Australia and followed it by the prestigious 2019 World Cup, the selectors are likely to ask Virat Kohli to hand captaincy duties to Rohit Sharma once again.

It also opens the options to check other batsmen to sort out middle-order issues.
