India Women vs New Zealand Women 2019: 2nd T20I, Eden Park, Auckland – Match Report; Well, it has been a scintillating match at Auckland between White Ferns and Indian Women Cricket Team. The home side held their nerves superbly to secure the series with a match yet to be played.
Ist Innings:
Initially, New Zealand women won the toss and chose to bowl first. Once again, Priya Punia walked back after scoring 4 runs to her name. Meanwhile, Mandhana played pretty unlike to her, scoring 36 off 27 deliveries. Unfortunately, she failed to carry-on.
However, Jemimah Rodrigues has been brilliant for the team. She scored a superb 72-run knock 53 balls. And then, it was once again a one-sided affair in the slog overs of the game. The rest of the batsmen, who got the chance to bat registered single-digit scores.
Mair was the pick of the bowlers for Kiwis, who bagged a couple of wickets. Meanwhile, Kasperek, Kerr and Devine bagged one wicket each to restrict Indians to 136 runs on the board.
2nd Innings:
In reply, finally, Suzie Bates showed her mojo for the team. She scored a valiant 62-run knock in the chase to put visitors chasing the leather more often than not. In between, Sophie Devine walked back with 19 runs in her kitty.
Amy Satterthwaite hung in for a while in the middle but failed to carry on with the flow. Her wicket followed by Gurrey’s wicket brought Indians back in the game to push for a victory.
The game went down to the wire with 8 runs being required off last 6 balls. Martin scored a boundary of the first ball and lost her wicket in the second ball to make equation read 4 runs off 4 balls. However, Rowe held her nerve to seal the deal in the final delivery.
For India, Radha Yadav and Arundhati Reddy picked up a couple of wickets while Joshi and Poonam Yadav bagged one wicket each. Suzie Bates was adjudged man of the match.
