Twitter Reacts As Indian Women Reach ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final After Rain Washout Semi-Final Against England

Following a washout game in Sydney, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team entered the final of the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. It will be their maiden final, as they never crossed the semifinal hurdle in the cricketing history so far. Meanwhile, Twitter celebrates the occasion with joy.
The Women in Blue qualified for the final after their semi-final match against England Women was abandoned due to rain. Continuous rain delayed the toss and eventually, the match was called off without a ball being bowled in Sydney.
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup: India won 4 in 4 league games –
Though the rain had the final say in the semi-final nothing can be taken away from the Women in Blue for playing some exceptional cricket in the group stage.
Rather they were the only team to win all the four matches and stay unbeaten and have been rewarded for the same.
India booked a place in the final as they finished their group on top with four wins out of four games. The last time these two-sided met in this competition, India had lost to England by eight wickets.
India will now face the winner of the second semi-final that will be played between South Africa and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
In case of another washout, South Africa will qualify on the virtue of most wins in their group.
“Unfortunate we didn’t get a game, but there are rules and we have to follow it. Having reserve days in the future will be a great idea,” said Kaur in the post-match presentation.
Having qualified for the finals now, India Women will be keen to go all the way this time around after missing out in 2017 when they lost to England in the Women’s ODI World Cup at Lord’s.

Biggest stand-alone women’s event in history on Australian soil and a finalist is decided because of a few hour’s rain. No back-up option provided in the playing conditions despite any number of options available to world cricket. #T20WorldCup

England won the #CWC19 on boundary count.

Absolutely heartbroken for the England Cricket girls. Knocked out of the T20 World Cup because of the weather.

England became world champions recently without actually winning the final and have now been eliminated from a world cup without actually losing their semifinal #T20WorldCup
