It took Rohit Sharma just four overs to realise how tough it is to lead the team from the front. The right-handed batsman, who has been handed the captaincy in the ongoing series, would have hoped to start his captaincy stint on a good note, but it soon got quashed.

The day began with Sri Lanka skipper Thisara Perera winning the toss and deciding to bowl first in the series-opener on a lively Dharamshala track. And it was soon followed by a disastrous start. Shikhar Dhawan was out in the very the first over and soon got joined in the pavilion by Rohit Sharma.

Rohit managed to see off a couple of overs on the tough pitch before a Suranga Lakmal delivery in the fifth over took the slightest of edges of his bat and went into the hands of wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella.

In fact, the edge was so faint that even the umpire failed to notice it. However, the wicketkeeper was confident, and straightaway asked his captain to review it. Replays showed the batsman had edged the ball and the umpire had to overturn his decision.
