Inhumane And Goes Beyond Cruelty: Virat Kohli On Hathras Rape Case

India cricket captain Virat Kohli, on Tuesday, took to social media to react to the horrifying rape incident that took place in Hathras village. The 19-year old girl passed away in a Delhi hospital two weeks after she was brutally tortured by four men.

The rape incident had taken place on September 14, when the girl was gang-raped and allegedly strangulated. The victim succumbed to the injuries inflicted upon her by the rapists. She passed away at Safdarjang hospital around 3am on Tuesday. Before shifting to Delhi in an extremely critical condition, she was admitted to Aligarh’s JN Medical College hospital.

The horrifying incident has once again rocked the entire nation as people from every corner of the country have joined hands to condemn it. As soon as the news of her passing away was confirmed, politicians, celebrities and others took to social media to express their shock and ire.

Virat Kohli also took to Twitter to condemn the news as he expressed his surprise over the heinous crime. The batting superstar also hoped that the culprits are taken care of by the authorities, writing:

“What happened in #Hathras is inhumane and goes beyond cruelty. Hope the culprits of this heinous crime will be brought to justice.”

Virat Kohli is currently in UAE for the ongoing IPL 2020. On Monday, he led Royal Challengers Bangalore to a thrilling win over defending champions Mumbai Indians. After both the teams finished on 201 in their allotted 20 overs, the match was decided by super over where Virat Kohli hit the winning runs on the final ball.

The RCB captain has failed to deliver in the tournament so far, scoring only 18 runs in the first three games. He will be looking to return to his best as soon as possible before the IPL enters its business phase.
