South African star batsman AB de Villiers has recently expressed his desire to name his second child ‘Taj’ after India’s historic monument Taj Mahal.

Meanwhile, De Villiers has a lot fan following in India since he started playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). While he represented Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the first three season, since then he has been a constant member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Moreover, AB acknowledged the affection he has been getting from the Indians for over a decade. In fact, he has often termed India as his second home.

Back in 2012, however, the prolific batsman has proposed to his wife Danielle at the iconic Taj Mahal. Since then, he has been fond of ivory-white marble mausoleum.

Recently, the Proteas batting maverick expressed his desire to name his second kid as ‘Taj’. During a chat named, ‘What the Duck’, de Villiers revealed that he wanted to do this since Jhonty Rhodes had named his daughter ‘India’.

Interestingly, Jonty was also there in the show to accompany De Villiers.

However, AB first thought of naming as ‘Karnataka’ but he thinks, Taj de Villiers would be an apt name for a boy.

Meanwhile, RCB still has some hopes of qualifying to the playoffs. For that, they need to win both their games with a good run-rate. De Villiers is still confident that his team can turn things from here.
