IPL 2018: Ajinkya Rahane, Stuart Binny Trolled After Rajasthan's Defeat Against Kolkata Knight Riders

Rajasthan Royals made their road to playoffs more difficult after suffering a six wickets defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders in the 50th match of Vivo IPL 11.

It was a strong performance by the KKR unit which it helped them stay afloat in the competition. It was a must-win encounter for both teams, but in the end, it was Kolkata who returned as winners.

After being asked to bat by KKR skipper, Dinesh Karthik, Shivam Mavi; the teenage pacer bowled a fantastic first over conceding just a couple of runs.

However, Rahul Tripathi started an onslaught on Prasid Krishna in the 2nd over. He struck a couple of fours and a six to get Rajasthan off to a quick start. Buttler, on the other hand, smashed 28 runs off Shivam Mavi in the 3rd over, as Rajasthan raced off to 49/3 in the first three overs.

They brought up the 50-run stand in the 4th over and went on to stretch the partnership till 63. It was Andre Russell who provided the maiden breakthrough in the form of Tripathi’s wicket. From there on, it was left-arm chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav who spun a web around the Rajasthan batsmen who left the visitors shell-shocked.

He began with the wicket of RR skipper, Ajinkya Rahane. The ball pitched in the middle stump and turned just a bit too disturbed the timbers. Rahane attempted a reverse sweep and missed it altogether.

Buttler also got dismissed in quick time by Kuldeep. He also attempted a reverse sweep and was caught in the point region.

Rahane and Binny Gets Trolled

Kuldeep kept applying the pressure and also bagged the wicket of Stuart Binny. It was a well-flighted delivery which turned quite a lot. Binny missed it altogether while attempting a drive and his feet went forward. Karthik was quick to whip the bails off, as Rajasthan were reduced to 96/5. While Rahane scored 11 off 12 deliveries, Binny managed a solitary run of four deliveries.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep also bagged the prized wicket of Ben Stokes to return with impressive figures of 4/20.

Kolkata then managed to chase the total down in the 18th over. Opener Chris Lynn scored a composed 45 while skipper Karthik remained unbeaten to see of the chase for Kolkata.

Following the defeat, the Rajasthan Royals fans trolled skipper Rahane and Stuart Binny for their below-par performances and blamed them for the loss.
