IPL 2018: Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane to Assist Steven Smith while Leading Rajasthan Royals

For the 2nd time in successive years, English all-rounder Ben Stokes became the most expensive player in the IPL auctions when he was snapped up by the Rajasthan Royals for a whopping Rs 12.5 crores.
Even last year, Stokes was the most expensive player with a contract of Rs 14.5 crores. However, doubts are surrounding his participation in the tournament, as he is currently facing a suspension following an alleged roadside brawl outside a Bristol pub way back in September. ‘
He was dropped from the Ashes squad and then further missed the limited-overs series against Australia. However, if the all-rounder gets a green signal to play in the IPL, he will definitely be one of the main players to watch out for.
Despite the doubts, there was huge bid for Stokes, and finally, it was the inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals who bought Stokes.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that skipper Steven Smith will be the main facet, whereas, the duo of Stokes and Ajinkya Rahane will be performing the broader management position.
While chatting with Sportstar, co-owner of the facet Manoj Badale stated that Smith has been too busy with the main Australian side. As per reports, Badale feels the broader management facet under Ben Stokes and Ajinkya Rahane will come useful for them.
“It is necessary that we construct a broader management group, through which we hope skilled gamers like Ben Stokes and Rahane play a job. We should perceive this that we’re rebuilding a franchise with a few years in thoughts,” he was quoted as saying by the Sportstar.
“We’d like group gamers and leaders round whom we will develop younger expertise within the coming years as we have now all the time performed,” mentioned Badale who is the co-owner of the facet.
Meanwhile, it must be noted that Rajasthan Royals will be returning to the tournament after serving a two-year suspension.
