Batting Coach of Kings XI Punjab, Brad Hodge, in a recent interaction,  claimed India houses a quality pool of local talents, which sets them apart from the rest of the cricketing nations.

Apart from the Indian internationals, the likes of Ambati Rayudu, Mayank Markande, Suryakumar Yadav and many others have impressed with their performances.

Hodge, a stalwart of Australian domestic cricket, seemed impressed with the bunch of talent the country possesses. Therefore, the Victorian tagged Indian Premier League (IPL) as the best tournament at present.

The quality of local talent, which is amazingly different from any other country. Also, the right number of foreigners in a side, the fact that the teams are owned by major film stars and industrial bigwigs. Of course, the Indian crowds have all made IPL the best in the world,” Brad Hodge told Sportstarlive.

One of the major revelations this season is the form of KL Rahul in return for the exorbitant amount of money spent on him. The Kings XI Punjab coach mentioned the franchise went for him, as they were aware that KL Rahul is an orange cap material.

What a talent! We knew he was a potential orange-cap holder and that is why we paid so much for him,” claimed Hodge when asked about the Karnataka batsman.

He has been brilliant from the first match, in which he played those amazing shots against Delhi. What a talent! We knew he was a potential orange-cap holder and that is why we paid so much for him,” continued the former Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders batsman.

Furthermore, Kings XI Punjab houses players, as Chris Gayle and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who are providing tremendous value for money to the franchise this season.

Well, those decisions may have looked debatable at the time. But I believe money shouldn’t be the criterion when it comes to getting the right players you wanted,” concluded Brad Hodge.
