In the 2018 edition of the cash-rich tournament, there has been a large influx of English cricketers. The eleventh edition has featured the likes of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Mark Wood, Sam Billings and many others.

As a result, the entire English contingent of the IPL is set to depart to the United Kingdom (UK) prior to the start of the playoffs.

In five IPL games, Woakes managed to bag eight wickets but went for plenty, at an economy over 10.

After the first five games, he was dropped in order to accommodate the likes of Moeen Ali, Colin de Grandhomme, and Tim Southee.

Chris Woakes leaves RCB with a couple of games to go and still in contention for a spot in the playoffs.
