IPL 2018: David Miller Feels KXIP Has the 'Best Chance' to Win IPL this Season

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) batsman David Miller is one of the very few players who featured for only one franchise in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career. The South African batsman is a vital cog in Kings XI’s set up. He has seen both ups and downs with the team.

However, Miller feels that this season they have the best chance to lay hands on the coveted IPL title. The franchise is only one of the three teams to have not won the league title over the past decade.

But Punjab turned out to be one of the favorites to win the title this season as they are packed with top class Indian talent in their lineup.

“It’s been amazing. Everyone’s playing really well. We have had a few outstanding performances from quite a few players. To win big competitions, you need inspired shows. Everyone has contributed on and off the field. I would say this is Kings XI’s best chance of winning the Indian Premier League,” Miller told Hindustan Times.

Moreover, the South African hard hitter could not play as much as he wanted this season. The team has plenty of talent listed in their roster and Miller is finding it hard to break into star-studded middle order.

With the likes of Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal, and Manoj Tiwary, the Punjab team have plenty of options in the middle order.

Miller Praises Indian Stars in Kings XI Punjab

Miller was also full of praise for Indian cricketers KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuvraj Singh.

Elegant with the bat, Rahul has been the cornerstone for Punjab’s batting this season. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin has been a huge hit as a skipper for the Mohali-based outfit.

“As for KL, he has a very good future. For sure, an all-format India player. Ashwin is a very astute captain. And Yuvi we all know, champion player,” Miller said.

If Rahul is in dream form this season, Chris Gayle is in sensational touch for the franchise. Having not picked up by any team in the auction on two occasions,

Kings XI got lucky for the third time. The move definitely played dividends for the team as the southpaw already scored more than 300 runs in just six innings.

Speaking about Chris Gayle, David Miller remarked: “He’s a great man. I always wanted to know him. Everyone thinks he’s too old and this and that. He’s an absolute legend. He’s the spark KXIP needed.”
