The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) despite losing their Qualifier 1st against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will get another shot at the final on Friday.

Sunrisers led by Kane Williamson will play their Qualifier second against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The winner of the match will go through to the final.

Well, it is scheduled to be played between the winner of the virtual knockout match and the Super Kings at the historic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on super Sunday (May 27).

So, it will be a mouth-watering contest on our hands in Kolkata. Hyderabad performed quite admirably in the first Qualifier. However, sensational innings from Faf du Plessis dashed their hopes of qualifying for the final directly. They were in early trouble after the CSK bowlers started off quite brilliantly.

Hyderabad kept losing wickets at regular intervals. However, it was a breezy 43 off 29 deliveries by Carlos Brathwaite which propelled Hyderabad to a score of 139 in their allotted 20 overs.

With the bowling line-up Hyderabad had, they would have backed themselves to do something special. They started off in a sensational manner.

Pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided the initial breakthrough of Shane Watson. It was Siddharth Kaul, who put Hyderabad firmly on top with two back-to-back wickets of man in form Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu.

Moreover, wickets kept falling at regular intervals. However, du Plessis held his nerves and scored a brilliant 67 of 42 deliveries as Chennai snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

However courtesy of finishing at the No.  position in the IPL points table, Hyderabad has got another go. Ahead of the tournament, many didn’t give them a chance due to the absence of a certain David Warner.

The southpaw had to miss the tournament due to his alleged involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal a couple of months ago.

However the current skipper Williamson has taken up the responsibility quite well both as a batsman and as a player. Hence the absence of Warner hasn’t been felt too much.

However, in a big match like today (May 25), David Warner might have proved to be the difference.

Despite not being allowed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to come to India and watch an IPL match, Warner’s love for Hyderabad has made him follow their matches.

Ahead of the must-win clash, Warner took to his twitter handle and wished his former side. “Good luck to @SunRisers tonight. Do Hyderabad proud gentleman,” he wrote.
