IPL 2018: KL Rahul Thanks Well-wishers for All the Love

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) opener, KL Rahul has thanked his fans for all the love and support after he guided his team to a six-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday (May 6) night

As a result, Punjab jumps to the third spot with six wins from nine games while Rajasthan languishes at the bottom of the table.

Batting first, Royals posted 152 runs after a low string of runs by their middle-orders, the Jaipur-based outfit has struggled with their batting, and this game was no different.

However, a fifty from Jos Buttler and a crucial late cameo at the end by Shreyas Gopal ensured they go over the 150-run mark.

Mystery spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Andrew Tye continued their brilliant job sharing five wickets among each other for Kings XI.

Meanwhile, in reply, Punjab suffered two early blows. However, KL Rahul (84*) ensured there is no need to panic. He partnered along with Karun Nair (31) and Marcus Stoinis (23*) – to see his team through.

Punjab will gain momentum and will look to continue in the upcoming fixtures.

Rahul thanks fans for the love:

The talismanic run scorer Rahul has been in terrific form this season leading KXIP’s batting along with Chris Gayle. Eventually, he played a gem of a knock to see his team through.

Opening the batting, Rahul remained unbeaten on 84 runs from 54 balls including three towering sixes and seven fours. He was slow to start, however, picked up at the right moment.

Rahul’s form at the top has released a lot of pressure and he will look to carry his form.

After the culmination of the game, he took to Twitter to thank his fans. He also expressed his happiness after finishing the game.

Meanwhile, KXIP will want him to continue this effort as the tournament is nearing its business end.

Moreover, Punjab is in line to qualify for the playoffs and will look to continue the winning momentum while banking on KL Rahul and Chris Gayle in particular with the bat.
