Giving yet another account of their formidable bowling lineup, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs to move to the top of the points table. Batting first, the Sunrisers scored a modest 151 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Kane Williamson starred with the bat, scoring 63 to guide his side to a competitive total. On the other hand, Jofra Archer impressed with the ball, picking up 3 for 26. The modest total, however, turned out to be more than enough in the end. Ajinkya Rahane scored an unbeaten fifty for his side but could not take it over the line.

With the game now done and dusted, here is a look at some interesting numbers and stats:

1. The win made Sunrisers the very first team to beat Royals in Jaipur after electing to bat first. The hosts have won thrice after electing to bat first at this venue.

2. This was also Sunrisers’ first win against Royals in Jaipur. They now lead the head to head record against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL by 5-4.

3. The game witnessed the second instance of Ajinkya Rahane scoring an unbeaten fifty during an unsuccessful run-chase in the IPL. His 84-not out against Delhi Daredevils in 2012 had gone in vain too. The fifty made him the first opener to score two unbeaten fifties during unsuccessful chases in the IPL. Rahane is overall the third player after David Miller and MS Dhoni to score more than one fifty during unsuccessful IPL chases.

4. This was Royals‘ first defeat while chasing in 11 T20 matches in Jaipur. Their last defeat while chasing at this venue came against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2012. Royals won eight consecutive IPL games while chasing after that defeat at this venue.

5. Rahane scored his fifty off 42 balls.  It was his 27th fifty-plus score in the IPL with ten of them coming off 42 and more deliveries.
