IPL 2018: Michael Vaughan praises Rajasthan Royals’ pick Jos Buttler

The former England skipper Michael Vaughan has rated promising wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler above Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the middle-order as the Indian Premier League franchise took Rajasthan Royals took to the micro-blogging site Twitter handle to hail the batsman.

“I don’t think there’s a better middle-order batsman in white-ball cricket,” Vaughan told in a BT Sport programme.

The 27-year-old Buttler termed they are excited to avail the service of Buttler, who has been prominent in the limited-overs format.

However, Vaughan responded Butler is the best value regarding the money spin on Butler during the auction in Bengaluru hosted by the British auctioneer Richard Madley.

“Best value for money signing of the #IPL auction…. #NoBrainer,” Vaughan asserted.

Royals management seemed to have done their homework well which further saw the franchise availing the services of quality youngsters in the ford.

Vaughan just played two Twenty20 in which he scored 27. However, he featured in 18 T20 in which he scored 319 runs and believes Buttler has stood above in the list.

“The Indians will go nuts because they say MS Dhoni, well Buttler has just gone ahead of him,” Vaughan observed.

Moreover, Vaughan has enjoyed the commentary stint which further saw him giving his expert views from time-to-time.

Well, the 36-year-old gloveman Dhoni might be past his prime, but he is the strong force to reckon particularly in the 50-over format in which he has dominated owing to the willow prowess.

Known for his fluent stroke-making, Butler played his first edition of IPL in 2016 which further saw him playing 24 matches.

The right-handed batsman Buttler scored 527 runs at an average of 25.09, as he struck a solitary fifty. However, he has the strike-rate of 145.98.

Butler has been the brute force with the bat and been the hot-property in the 20-over format.
