IPL 2018: MS Dhoni Playing key Role in Nurturing Talent - Kasi Vishwanath

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO, Kasi Viswanathan has recently admitted it is skipper MSDhoni’s ability to marshal the talent available in the side brilliantly is the key factor for the team.

Meanwhile, CSK is currently on the second spot and has impressed everybody with their aggressive cricket. Moreover, they scripted a historic comeback coming out from two years suspension.

Vishwanath admitted the franchise is happy to have Dhoni on their side as a skipper. He also praised his leading abilities and stated it had helped the franchise a lot.

“Chennai Super Kings are blessed to have Dhoni, one of the greatest captains India has ever produced, in the side. He manages to get the best out of the players. He has marshalled the talent brilliantly,” Viswanathan said.

Dhoni, however, has been constant for the Super Kings. Under him, CSK won two titles and reached the playoff in every season till 2015. Talking about the consistency, Vishwanath revealed it is an outcome of a team effort.

Bitter Disappointments

The Super Kings had to face a lot of trouble off the field. They had to shift their base to Pune after their first game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The authorities failed to provide enough security in the wake of the Cauvery Water Protest.

Viswanathan said the logistics in shifting the venue to Pune was a challenge and the disappointment of the fans was bitter.

“We moved to Pune where we have had success in the past. There was massive disappointment among the fans but it was a situation where we did not have control. It was a big logistical and emotional challenge but we got it done,” he added.

Meanwhile, CSK management arranged special trains for the fans to go and watch games at Pune. They also provided complimentary tickets and hotel rooms for the fans.
