IPL 2018: Preity Zinta Delighted after Chris Gayle Proves his Mettle

The Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta showed her delight after getting Chris Gayle on board paid dividends for the franchise.

The T20 king was brought in the final stages of the IPL auctions by the Punjab franchise for his base price of INR 2 crores. Gayle has thus far played two matches in the ongoing edition of the tournament, and he has proven his mettle.

The Universe Boss Gayle was able to score the first century of the season, and it was his 6th IPL ton which took his tally to 21 T20 hundred on Thursday.

Gayle has bagged two Man of the Match awards in the last two matches for the Punjab team. The combative southpaw scored an unbeaten 104 off just 63 balls to take Punjab’s total to a gargantuan 193 runs.

Gayle was on song in the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad which possesses one of the best bowling line-ups in the competition. Gayle scored 70 runs in boundaries, as he smashed 11 maximums and also one four.

The most impressive thing about Gayle is that he keeps his shape while playing the big shots and he looks to play straight down the wicket.

Gayle was able to get the better off Rashid Khan who is Sunrisers’ best spinner. The Windies pugnacious left-hander clobbered the Afghanistan bowler to all the parts of the ground and scored four consecutive sixes in one over off Khan.

Meanwhile, Preity Zinta was on fire in the Indian Premier League auctions, as she was bidding for almost every player.

Gayle was picked in the final stages of the auctions and Zinta is delighted to get the Windies batsman on board.
