It was a mindboggling all-round performance by Afghan sensational Rashid Khan who single-handedly Sunrisers Hyderad to their 2nd final after a 13 runs victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier 1 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The 19-year-old couldn’t have a had a better day. First, it was his whirlwind knock of 34 of 10 balls which propelled Hyderabad to a commendable score of 174 in their allotted 20 overs.

From a position where Hyderabad even looked unsure of going past 150, Rashid’s knock gave them the much-needed momentum going into the 2nd innings. He smashed 4 sixes and was severe on Prasid Krishna. Despite momentum being on their side, SRH started on a poor note with the ball in hand. Openers Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn got KKR off to a brisk start. They raced off t 40 in the first 3 overs.

However, the wicket of Sunil Narine put the brakes on KKR. It was Nitish Rana who has elevated up the order and he didn’t disappoint. He played a good knock but his dismissal opened the floodgates for a collapse. It was a horrendous shot from Robin Uthappa which brought about his dismissal. I literally don’t have an idea that what he was thinking while executing that reverse sweep. It was quite bizarre and from there on “Magnificent Rashid” ripped through the KKR batting line-up.

He was at his wicket-taking best bamboozling all the batsmen with his variations. His googlies were simply unplayable at times and batsmen like Andre Russell was never in any comfort whatsoever. Rashid knew he had just one over to dismiss Russell and he set him up quite brilliantly. The field placement was also spot on by Kane Williamson.

In the end, Hyderabad won by 13 runs and will play the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Super Sunday. Following his sensational all-round showing, the “Little Master” Sachin Tendulkar went on to state him as the best bowler in this format. Taking to his twitter handle, Tendulkar was in all praise for the young master at work.
