Afghanistan star Mohammad Nabi will once again be donning the Sunrisers Hyderabad jersey after being bought by the franchise in the ongoing auction in Bengaluru. The champions of the ninth season shelled out INR 1 crore to secure the services of the allrounder.

Last year, Nabi had become the first Afghan player to be sold in the IPL after being bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 10th season. He was bought at his base price of 30 lakh. Along with Nabi, the Sunrisers had also bought Rashid Khan last year and the duo will play together once again after the Hyderabad franchise bought Rashid for a whopping amount of INR 9 crore by exercising the RTM card.

Nabi had played three games last season and had not quite managed to leave a big impression. He managed to take a couple of wickets but could score only two runs.

The 33-year old, who has played an integral role in Afghanistan’s meteoric rise in international cricket, has played 158 T20s so far, picking up 180 wickets in addition to scoring over 2,000 runs. He also has ample experience of franchise cricket, having plied his trade for Chittagong Vikings, Melbourne Renegades, Quetta Gladiators, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Sylhet Royals.
