Chennai Super Kings (CSK) juggernaut continues to roll on this season of Indian Premier League as they defeated table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) convincingly by eight wickets at the Maharastra Cricket Stadium (MCA) in Pune on Sunday (May 13).

It was their stellar opening combination of Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu, who did all the damage with their opening stand of 134.

Rayudu smashed the fourth ton of the IPL with his 62-ball century. He remained unbeaten when the final runs were scored. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained unbeaten on 20 off 14 balls, as Super Kings clinched the match with an over to spare.

CSK now have defeated the team to beat this season, SRH, in both away and home matches.

Suresh Raina, who scored just two runs, lauded his CSK men for their match-winning contributions against a quality-bowling side led by Kane Williamson.

It’s pertinent to mention that Sunrisers recently defended the low-scoring totals while banking on the premium bowlers.

Earlier, Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. The visiting side posted 179 for four in 20 overs.

For Super Kings, Shardul Thakur bagged two wickets after conceding 32 runs in four overs. Whereas, making a return after the injury Deepak Chahar bagged a wicket after giving away just 16 runs in his quota of four overs.

Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was the top scorer with 49-ball 79 runs. Moreover, Williamson registered 51 off 39 deliveries.

Brilliant knock from @RayuduAmbati, @ShaneRWatson33 and an amazing spell of pace bowling from #DeepakChahar upfront to give us a great win. @ChennaiIPL,” tweeted Suresh Raina post victory over SRH.

Here’s the post from Suresh Raina, who couldn’t deliver much during the game.
