There are a very few cricketers in the world who show as less emotion as MS Dhoni on the field.

Apart from his cricketing exploits, the legendary skipper has carved his place in the cricketing folklore with his uber-cool approach on the field. However, when he is off the field; he is a different character.

The 36-year old is known for his witty nature. During a recent promotional event, the audience got a taste of Dhoni’s impeccable sense of humour. During the event hosted by Gulf Oil, the Chennai Super Kings skipper was asked an interesting question by a fan.

Sir aap itne lambe-lambe shot kaise marte hain  ( Sir, how do you hit such long hits)?,” asked the curious fan.

But instead of giving a straight-forward answer, the World Cup-winning skipper came up with a witty reply.

“Aankh band karo, balla upar karo, bhagwan ka naam lo aur mar do (close your eyes, raise the bat, remember the God and hit the ball),” said Dhoni with a wry smile on his face.

Meanwhile, Dhoni is currently busy leading Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. The two-time IPL champions presently sit second in the points table with seven wins from ten matches. One more win in remaining four games will all but secure their passage to the playoffs.

Dhoni has been in stunning form in the ongoing season. Before the start of the tournament, Dhoni’s image as finisher had taken a beating. The former India skipper was not batting in the way that had made him one of the most dangerous batsmen on the planet a few years ago.

However, he has turned back the clock with some scintillating hitting in the ongoing edition of IPL 2018. In fact, he is having the best IPL season of his life. He is not only winning games for his side almost single-handedly but is also showing unparalleled consistency. So far, Dhoni has scored 360 runs at a strike rate of over 165 and an average of 90.

Going by his current form, this is Dhoni’s best season since 2013 when he had scored 461 runs in 18 games. The veteran cricketer has already hit three fifties this season. He has also hit a staggering 27 sixes in addition to 19 fours.
