With just 139 runs to defend, Sunrisers Hyderabad needed something special from their strong bowling lineup to contain the Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing first qualifier.

Sunrisers’ bowling lineup was the architect of their passage to the playoffs. And they did not take long to rise to the occasion. Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided the team with a great start by dismissing Shane Watson on a five-ball duck in the first over.

Siddarth Kaul then put the Sunrisers on top by dismissing Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu on successive deliveries, leaving the Super Kings reeling at 24 for three. But with MS Dhoni still in the middle, there was no room for relaxation for the Sunrisers. The Super Kings skipper has been in brilliant form this season, winning games single-handedly for his side.

However, Dhoni could not take his side home this time around. The right-handed batsman struggled throughout and was batting on nine off 17 balls before getting castled by Rashid Khan. The Afghan sensation bowled a wrong-un which Dhoni failed to read.

The veteran batsman was lunging forward, perhaps trying to play it too square. However, the ball grazed the inside edge, went through the huge gap between bat and pad and disturbed the stumps. At Dhoni’s dismissal, Super Kings were reeling at 39 for four.

Here is a clip of that wicket:
